Commissions

Below you shall see examples of work that i have commissioned to produce. Normally the images are based on clients photos where each one is analysed in depth to capture the true animal in pastel or acrylic.

The choice of paper that is used is dependent on clients preferences as to the type image they are wanting. I often use "Hahnemuhle velour paper" which creates a wonderful, delicate, soft picture where as some of my other work is done on pastelmat, this creates a very detailed look. Acrylic paintings can be on canvas board or box canvas which wouldn't need framing.

All I require a good quality photograph but I can always come out and take photographs where necessary. I am located in the Vale of Belvoir Nottingham and am willing to travel but will have to charge for travel expenses if not local.

I need at least one photograph, in focus, of the animal you wish me to paint. The clearer the photograph the more detail I will be able to see and therefore the more detail I will be able to include in the painting. The eyes of an animal are where their character lies so a photograph without the use of flash would be better and try to get eye level with your pet when taking the picture. Taking the photographs outside in natural light is better as this way you will get the correct coat colour.
